Bay Venues - Social Media Strategy 

Bay Venues manage over 24 venues on behalf of the Tauranga City Council, including stadiums, sports centres, pools, gyms and community halls. Their purpose is to connect the community through exceptional experiences. 

Bay Venues required a social media strategy that fostered community engagement, streamlined processes and drove results, while considering their implementation requirements and business landscape. With over 30 social media pages - this was a complex task!

Prior to working with me, social pages were costing significant time and resource, and there was brand risk without streamlined processes. Bay Venues needed a new plan, while gaining the buy-in of their board for investment and resource toward social media.

My Approach:
Step 1: Facilitated two bespoke workshops with the exceptional marketing team
Step 2: Assessed Bay Venues business plans, objectives, vision and values, implementation requirements, and available resources
Step 3: Developed a social media strategy spanning 31 social media pages, which included audience needs, consumer insight, digital and social media opportunity
Step 4: Strategy presentation with implementation roadmap 


The Outcome:
A robust social media strategy designed to manage and elevate 31 x social pages. I presented a succinct business case for social media investment, quantifying the expected value and outcomes. I introduced a streamlined social media process and provided detailed implementation roadmaps and content pillars.

300% increase in engagement in the first month alone

Prior to working with Sofia, we had 23 Facebook pages and 8 Instagram accounts, with varied levels of content quality & quantity - all managed by different individuals. Our mission before starting this project was to establish a strategy that would enable us to bring these accounts internal – in turn increasing results and reducing brand risk. 

Sofia’s methodical yet creative approach to our social media strategy, allowed this process to be both interactive and enjoyable. She was able to take our overwhelming 25+ accounts and turn them into manageable bite-sized pillars that have served our business objectives.

Since working with Sofia we’ve presented her strategy to the leadership team and had a 100% buy-in. This has resulted in all social media accounts being housed internally, which has reduced costs for the business, as well as brand risk. In our first month alone we saw increased engagement rates of up to 300% & reach of 150%.
